The Blurb

What if you were on the cusp of marrying the guy of your dreams and reaching that career goal you set for yourself, only for all of it to be taken away in one fell swoop?

What if this all happened a month before you turned 30?

This is the story of Jill Stevens, who after moving back home, finds a list she made in high school of thirty things she wanted to accomplish before her thirtieth birthday.

With a month left and hardly anything crossed off her list, she teams up with old friends to accomplish as much as she can before the big 3-0. Along the way, she discovers her true self and realizes it’s not about the material successes in life but the journey

The Review

Everyone has one. A list. A list of things that we have to do. Call them bucket, life or to-do lists, whatever. We all have things that we want to achieve or accomplish before we turn a certain age. And that is exactly what the protagonist of Thirty Days to Thirty, Jill Stevens, tries to do.

After losing her chance to become partner in a prestigious law firm, her job and her boyfriend all on the same day Jill Stevens returns home to her parent’s house feeling broken. However, after accidentally finding a list she created as a teenager of things she would like to achieve in her life Jill gets a renewed vigour to make her life mean something. But what is it that she really wants?

Thirty Days to Thirty by Courtney Psak was a joy to read. It was uplifting, warm and fun. Sometimes you need a book purely for escapism and that is what Psak offers. Whilst the story is light and frothy it does pack a message which I think is important. What is it that you are doing with your life? Does it make you happy? And if not, what are you going to do to change it?

Thirty Days to Thirty by Courtney Psak is available on the 19th October 2016.
