Goodbye Summer

Today is my last day of summer.

As some of you know, I work in a high school and tomorrow I start back at school. I can’t say I’m super happy about it because I’ve enjoyed being off. I have really enjoyed my summer even though things didn’t exactly go to plan.

Firstly, I was supposed to have a check up at my dentist but I must have slept in a draft one night because the day of my appointment I couldn’t get out of bed. My neck was locked in place. It was so painful.

Then I was supposed to go away with my boyfriend but he became a bit poorly sick so we had to cancel which is a shame. The blow of this was softened by the release of the new Harry Potter book.

I then booked train tickets for another potential time away with the boyfriend but I was given a hospital appointment and I really couldn’t miss it. I had surgery on my chin to correct a scar. The procedure didn’t hurt but the needle that skewered my chin wasn’t pleasant. So, one skewered chin and seven stitches later my chin looks like it used to. Huzzah!

Other than this, I worked towards an EAL course, spend loads of time with my beautiful niece and I read a lot of books (38 books to be exact) and I brought my NetGalley percentage rate up to 41%. I was aiming for a little bit higher but I’m not going to sniff at an increase.

So now it is back to school. As they say in Grease 2 “the board of education has took away my parole”. Back to spending my time doing actual work rather than reading. Boo hiss.

My Goodreads challenge has been surpassed, however, I still have to read 45 more books to surpass last year’s total of 194. Wish me luck.

Anyway bookish friends I best go and get my bag packed for school. Bummer.

Love Lisa x

The first half of my day could have been an email. The second half was quite interesting though x x
