Last Christmas I bought my mum a copy of Jersey Boys and on one of the days before the New Year we sat and watched this amazing story (based on the stage musical).
As I watched the movie I was impressed by the amount of songs by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons that I knew. I mean, sure I had been aware of the group but mainly it was because they were featured on some of my favourite movie soundtracks – most notably, Dirty Dancing.
What I didn’t know was the hardships and the troubles that the band went through. It was truly fascinating so when I saw Jennifer Warner’s book I was intrigued. There is only so much that you can get from a movie and I wanted to know the nitty-gritty.
The True Story of the Jersey Boys – The Story Behind Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons is a potted history and is a great starting point for anyone wanting to learn information behind the music. The most important points are highlighted and discussed to an easily understandable level.
